“We live in a historic house and as with many such properties the service part of the property was outdated and in sore need of renovation.  The issues with the service area were compounded by a number of small awkward spaces leading into each other.  The project for which we engaged Smith and Sons was to modernise the kitchen area while been sympathetic to the heritage nature of the building and to provide a solution allowing us to properly/or more efficiently utilise the existing spaces.

We chose Smith and Sons as they were recommended to us by the company in which we had engaged to design and build the kitchen.

The team from Smith and Sons were very courteous and reliable.  My wife works from home and therefore noise, dust, power cuts etc could have been an issue but were not and these were managed by Smith and Sons extremely well.

We were very happy with the final result, the area which Smith and Sons has created is light and airy and creates a real focal point in the house.  I think it fair to say that our expectations with regard to the kitchen and service area space which were created by Smith and Sons (kitchen, scullery, mudroom and entrance way) are exceeded.

The renovation has made the property a lot more functional and the back door area which is where we normally access the property is now far more usable than it was before with a separate space for shoes and bags (previously part of the laundry) and ample entrance area.  The kitchen with the parquet wood floors is light and airy and unfailingly draws compliments from our visitors.  It is now a real delight to eat in the kitchen as a family something which had not been possible previously and to gather in the kitchen over a drink or cup of coffee.

We so happy with the kitchen/service area that we have asked Smith and Sons to complete the renovation of the front room of our property something which had not previously been planned.”
