Smith & Sons Ashburton Brings Home Building Award!
Paul Cartney from Smith & Sons Ashburton recently received accolades for his building achievements in the form of an award at the 2013 Regional House of the Year Awards, as part of the Master Builders Association of NZ.
Mr Cartney received the Silver Award 2013 for the ‘Best Renovation / Addition between $250,001 and $500,000’ category, which is the area in which Mr Cartney feels his team really excels.
“Being renovation specialists – this category is where we really see our niche”, Mr Cartney said.
“Many builders just concentrate on the new home sector, where each job is virtually the same and they know they can get good margins. With renovations – each job is different, and instead of just standing frames and trusses all day, we enjoy the challenges that renovating brings.”
“We love seeing the look on people’s faces when they see their newly renovated home – renovating is more forming a relationship with the clients than being just a project – we get to know all about them – their needs, wishes and dreams. It’s a privilege for us!”
Smith & Sons South Island Master Office recognized Mr Cartney as a key part of their team and one of the companies most well known and loved characters.
“We love seeing people like Paul receiving awards like these – as he’s not just a great builder, he’s a generous, loving family man who is passionate about his business and life itself – nothings a problem, if it needs sorted Paul just rolls his sleeves up and gets it done,” said Blair Myles, Managing Director of Smith & Sons South Island.
“Paul and wife/business partner Anna are just great to work with and bring plenty of fun to the way they do business. Not only that – but people get a fantastic renovation performed by a team of dedicated professionals. It doesn’t get much better than that”.
The 2013 House of the Year Building Awards are open to builders all across Mid & South Canterbury and cover all aspects of building from bathroom renovations to multi-unit complexes.
Winners were announced at a Gala Awards Dinner held in Timaru on Saturday the 6th July, 2013.
