Farmhouse Interior Reconfiguration – Ashburton
This property is an older style farm house with good bones. The scope of works was to make more of an open plan kitchen living room area as well as adding a master suite which included a walk in robe and ensuite, move the laundry out of the middle of the house and gain a little more space without changing the roof.
The team at Smith & Sons Ashburton worked with their architect to come up with a plan for removing the front door area which was rarely used, then pushing the laundry and back door out under the verandah therefore gaining a total of 6m2 of extra floor space. A lot of the existing bracing was moved with changing so many internal walls around and steel beams were installed to hold the existing room up.
The house was transformed from an older style farmhouse to a modern and high spec home.
