Kitchen Relocation to Add Flow + Improve Lifestyle
Initially approaching Smith & Sons Franklin with a vision for a more liveable home, our team worked with the homeowners throughout the process to design, plan and construct this extensive renovation project.
In re-working the floor plan to relocate the kitchen from the second storey to the ground floor, we created access to the garden from the kitchen and living areas. The new design features large bi-fold doors which allow for indoor – outdoor flow.
On the ground floor, the original floor plan consisted of a mudroom and a large rumpus room. The wall was removed between these rooms to attain an open plan kitchen and dining area in this space. The new kitchen was designed and installed by Kitchen Inspirations and the final layout ensures the available space is fully utilised to maximise functionality and storage.
The kitchen/dining relocation has given the homeowners the additional bonus of creating a space upstairs for a new master bedroom suite – which is next on their renovation wish list. As all the bedrooms are now on the second level, a sense of privacy and separation has been created, away from the main social areas of the home.
The homeowners achieved their dreams of making their home more liveable and are enjoying their functional new spaces.
