Mid Century Kitchen Renovation

This architecturally designed mid century home is located in the established, leafy suburbs by the University in Christchurch.  The owners wished to update and streamline the kitchen to create a tidier and more aesthetically pleasing space. The team at Christchurch Port Hills worked with kitchen designer Nicky Claridge on this project. The floor layout remained almost the same as the owners did not wish to replace the floor tiles, although they could provide around 6 spare tiles, allowing for minimal replacement work. The cabinetry was completely updated and a large pantry cupboard installed. The cupboards above the work bench were raised to create a more open feeling and the handleless design provides a sleeker look. All new worktops and appliances completed the renovation.
